Chelsea Makes Huge Offer to Sign Barcelona Star

Sport reported that Chelsea sent an official offer to Barcelona to sign Fermín López less than a week before the end of the current summer transfer window.

The offer comes at a time when Barcelona is struggling to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, hindering the registration of several players, most notably new signing Ronnie Bardez, goalkeeper Szczesny, and center-back Gerard Martin.

Fermín López had previously confirmed his happiness at Barcelona and his desire to stay, but the option of leaving has resurfaced, and the secret lies in the financial price Chelsea offered to complete the deal.

According to Sport, Chelsea offered Barcelona €50 million to sign López, an amount that could currently solve all of the Catalan club’s financial crises until at least next January.

Fermin did not participate in the last match against Levante, and coach Hansi Flick preferred to rely on Marc Casado. The German subsequently spoke with the Spanish international to reassure him that his position was secure and that the incident was part of a rotation policy to prevent physical fatigue.

The 23-year-old has yet to decide whether to accept or reject the offer, and Barcelona’s management has not yet made a decision and is still discussing this opportunity. Flick, however, would prefer the player to stay, but would not object if the club ultimately had to sell him to sign other players.
