It also ranks as the second-highest transfer fee in Premier League history, just behind Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool, while becoming Chelsea’s most expensive signing ever, surpassing the fee paid for Enzo Fernández.
Chelsea’s pursuit follows a sensational season for Rogers at Aston Villa. The midfielder made 55 appearances across all competitions, registering 14 goals and 12 assists.
