Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal has confirmed his desire for Rodri to join the club, while heaping praise on Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, whom he considers the Spanish national team’s most prominent star.
Rodri’s contract with Manchester City expires in the summer of 2027, and Real Madrid are reportedly very interested in signing the Ballon d’Or winner, while his English club will do everything they can to renew his contract.
When asked about Rodri’s move to Real Madrid, Carvajal said, “I’ve already told him that. I hope he can sign for Real Madrid in the future; he’s a fantastic player.”
Regarding Yamal, Carvajal said, “We’ve had a hard time with him this year. He’s getting better and making great strides. We enjoy having him here with the Spanish national team.”
He added, “He has the responsibility of leading Barcelona and the national team. It’s not easy to assume that, but he’s working hard on the pitch and continues to perform exceptionally.”
Carvajal is preparing to join up with Yamal and Rodri in the Spain national team when La Roja play two 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Türkiye and Bulgaria during the current international break in September.
