Camavinga Close to Real Madrid Return

Eduardo Camavinga is close to returning to Real Madrid action, according to AS.

The French star has been out of action for the club since suffering a left adductor tendon injury in April.

Camavinga was expected to return at the start of the season, but he suffered a severe ankle sprain that caused him to miss the first four matches of the season.

Camavinga’s absence will continue for Real Madrid against Marseille, as Xabi Alonso’s side begin their Champions League campaign.

The good news, according to AS, is that Camavinga’s chances of a full return and participating against Espanyol next week are very good.

The player has returned to ball training at Valdebebas and has participated in some group sessions. If he continues at this pace, he should be ready to play some minutes against Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabéu.

In general, neither Alonso nor Real Madrid want to risk Camavinga. The club prefers to introduce him gradually to prevent recurrence of injury. Therefore, they are taking a very cautious approach and not rushing his return at any cost.

It’s worth noting that Camavinga suffered severely from injuries last season, playing only 33.3% of Real Madrid’s match minutes. This has led some to call for his release, especially given his clear decline in form.
