Breaking records every three days… Messi achieves a historic achievement in America (Video)

Lionel Messi continues to shine with Inter Miami in the American League. His latest achievement was scoring two goals in his team’s victory over Nashville on Sunday morning, setting a historic record.

The Flea’s first goal came from a direct free kick, while he capitalized on a blunder by the Nashville goalkeeper to score the second, leading his team to a 2-1 victory and moving closer to the top of the Eastern Conference.

Messi became the first player in MLS history to score two goals in five consecutive games, and the first player in the history of the competition to contribute at least two goals, or more, in five consecutive games.

Messi, 37, also became the MLS’s top scorer this season with 16 goals, and the player with the most overall goalscoring contributions in the league with 22 goals.

In the same vein, Messi closed the gap with Pele to one goal in the all-time list of all-time free-kick goalscorers in football history, reaching 69 against Nashville, just eight goals behind fellow Brazilian legend Juninho.

Coach Javier Mascherano spoke about Messi’s achievements, saying, “I don’t have many words… What he continues to do is incredible. He’s breaking records every three days now, not even every weekend.”

He added, “He’s the leader, and it’s a blessing for me to be with him at this stage of his career.”

Messi’s next challenge will be with Inter Miami, when they face Cincinnati, the Eastern Conference runner-up, who are only four points behind Inter Miami, with three games remaining for Messi’s teammates.
