Bentayeg’s Agent Reveals the Truth About Al Ahly’s Negotiations to Sign Zamalek Star

Youssef Masoud, Mahmoud Bentayeg’s agent, denied reports circulating about negotiations with Al Ahly to sign his client, the Zamalek star, in the near future.

Bentayeg has faced several problems at Zamalek recently, most notably the failure to receive his outstanding financial dues, which prompted him to threaten to resort to FIFA and unilaterally terminate his contract.

At the same time, Al Ahly has yet to find a left-back since the departure of Ali Maaloul and the failure to sign Yahya Attiyat Allah. It is assumed that the Red Devils will intensify their efforts to sign a player to fill this void in January or June.

Bentayeg’s name was mentioned in the media, and it was reported that negotiations were taking place between Al Ahly and his agent. Youssef Masoud responded in media statements, saying, “There are no negotiations or contacts with Al Ahly. Bentayeg is a Zamalek player and is committed to his contract, which extends for three years.”

He added, “Bentaj is a professional player who is committed to his contract with Zamalek. What we ask is that Zamalek abide by and respect the terms of the contract signed between us.”

Masad also revealed the ongoing crisis between Zamalek and the Moroccan international, saying, “He has received part of his overdue dues. There are no problems between us and Zamalek, but we demand that the contracts be respected.”

He concluded, “There is no penalty clause in the contract, and Bentaj is happy to play for Zamalek, and this is evident in the matches. The problem is that the club has not honored the player’s dues.”
