Jude Bellingham’s return to Real Madrid is closer than ever, as he is nearing a full recovery.
Bellingham suffered the injury during Real Madrid’s match against Rayo Vallecano at the beginning of February, and initial estimates suggested he would be out for at least two months.
It was expected that the England international would return to action for Los Blancos after the international break.
The Athletic revealed in its latest report that Bellingham traveled to London, where he underwent further tests after completing a significant portion of his rehabilitation program.
Bellingham is almost fully recovered and is now aiming to return to action for Real Madrid, starting with the Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Manchester City on March 17.
Real Madrid’s medical staff believe it’s best to proceed cautiously and not risk him prematurely. Therefore, the doctors are inclined to postpone his return until the derby match against Atlético Madrid, scheduled for March 22nd.
In any case, Bellingham will be available for selection by Álvaro Arbeloa starting next week, and the Spanish coach will have to decide, based on the player’s physical and technical condition, when he will be able to participate in matches again.
It’s worth noting that Bellingham has played 28 matches for Real Madrid this season across all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 4 assists.
