Jude Bellingham responded briefly to Lamine Yamal’s actions before Sunday’s El Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The young Spanish star had attacked Real Madrid, saying that they “steal and then complain,” which angered all of the Los Blancos’ stars and later led to a major post-match brawl between him and the rest of the players.
Bellingham was not involved in the brawl, but he indirectly addressed Yamal after the match on his Instagram account.
The English star wrote, along with a photo of himself celebrating his goal against Szczesny, “Talk is cheap, Hala Madrid,” referring to Yamal’s comments against Real Madrid.
Bellingham also spoke to the media after El Clásico, saying, “We’re very happy because last year we missed a lot, and today is a great day for all of us. Everyone worked hard, and that’s why we deserve the three points.”
He concluded, “This day is also for the fans. As I said, for a long time, last year, we played poorly in these games, in these big games, and today is for everyone: the fans, the players, the staff, us, and everyone else.”
Bellingham scored and assisted in Sunday’s El Clásico, having opened his scoring account for the season last week against Juventus with a stunning goal in the Champions League.
