Bellingham magic… losing CL final gives Dortmund double the reward!

Bild newspaper revealed that Borussia Dortmund’s loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final, if it happens, will be in the German club’s economic interest.

The secret to this lies in Jude Bellingham’s transfer from Dortmund to Real Madrid last summer, which includes a major reward that the Yellow and Black will receive if the player wins the Champions League.

The winner of the Champions League title receives 20 million euros as a reward from UEFA, while Bellingham’s contract with Real Madrid guarantees Dortmund 25 million euros if he is crowned “with the ears” with the Royal Club.

Finishing second in the Champions League also guarantees 15 million euros to the runner-up, which means that losing the title for Dortmund will mean that they will receive 40 million euros, double what they would achieve if they won the competition.

But certainly winning the Champions League title is not equivalent to money, so it will be another matter for Dortmund, which wants to win its first continental title since 1996.

The final match of the Champions League is scheduled to be held at Wembley Stadium on June 1.
