Bayern Munich crushed their hosts St. Pauli 5-0 in the 29th round of the 2026 Bundesliga.
The Bavarian giants had already defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at the Santiago Bernabéu and are now preparing to host Los Blancos on Wednesday at the Allianz Arena for the second leg.
Vincent Kompany rested several key players today, but this did little to affect Bayern’s performance and the result against St. Pauli, who currently sit 16th in the Bundesliga.
Jamal Musiala opened the scoring for Bayern Munich in the ninth minute, followed by a historic goal from Leon Goretzka in the 53rd minute. This goal marked the best attacking record in Bundesliga history, as the southern giants reached 102 goals, breaking their own record of 101 goals set in the 1971-72 season.
Michael Uliseley scored the third goal, Nicholas Jackson added the fourth, and Raphael Guerreiro completed the rout in the 88th minute.
Bayern Munich are now on the verge of winning the Bundesliga title, needing just one more victory in their remaining five matches to officially clinch the championship after Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen at Signal Iduna Park.
The Bavarian giants are the only club still in contention for a historic treble this season, having also reached the semi-finals of the German Cup, where they will face Bayer Leverkusen, in addition to their successful run in the Champions League.
