Bayer Leverkusen President announces Xabi Alonso as Real Madrid coach!

Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Caro has confirmed that Xabi Alonso will one day become Real Madrid coach.

Alonso succeeded in presenting himself as one of the best coaches in the world after he led Leverkusen to win the German League, and on his way to achieving the German Cup and the European League.

The Spanish coach refused to coach Liverpool or Bayern Munich next season, and was determined to continue for at least another year at the Bay Arena.

Carlo spoke to the media about Alonso as a coach, and said, “Alonso has a third share in the reason we won the Spanish League.”

He also added, “When we met him for the first time, we immediately considered him our priority. We had confidence in his ability to make a difference, but it was certainly a surprise that we won the Bundesliga in his second season.”

He concluded, “I’m sure that Alonso will be coach of Real Madrid one day. I don’t know when, but he will end up there at some point.”

Spanish media have indicated that Real Madrid plans for Alonso to become Carlo Ancelotti’s successor in the summer of 2025, or in the summer of 2026 at the latest.
