Concern has spread among Barcelona fans following the defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla. Criticism of coach Hansi Flick’s attacking style has intensified, and questions have been raised about its effectiveness. This prompted the Catalan club’s management to intervene.
According to Sport, Barcelona president Joan Laporta and all members of the club’s board of directors sent a letter to Flick affirming their absolute confidence in him and their unwavering support for him.
The officials wanted to reaffirm their belief that Flick is the right man in the right place, and that the losses to PSG and Sevilla are a normal occurrence that occurs from time to time and have not shaken their confidence in the German coach in the slightest.
Flick has expressed his understanding of Barça’s decline in form and promised to work hard during the international break to restore the team’s usual level under his leadership, especially since the coming period will witness a number of important matches, most notably El Clásico on October 26.
It’s worth noting that this is the first time since December 2024 that Barcelona has suffered two consecutive defeats, and the loss to Sevilla has seen the Blaugrana drop to second place in La Liga, two points behind Real Madrid.
