Barcelona Successfully Sells Its Star to Portugal for a Large Sum!

Barcelona star Pau Victor has completed his transfer to Portuguese club Sporting Braga during the current summer transfer window.

Victor has fallen out of favor with coach Hansi Flick, and Barcelona wants to sell him to free up space for one of the new signings the Catalans made during the current transfer window. It appears that Joan Laporta’s management has already achieved this goal.

Victor recently received an offer from Valencia, but Barcelona demanded at least €10 million for him, which scuppered the transfer and prevented him from joining any other La Liga club.

According to The Athletic, Pau Victor will eventually move to Braga for a fixed fee of €12 million and an additional €3 million. It remains unknown whether his contract includes a buyback clause or at least a percentage of any future sale.

By selling Victor for this amount, Barcelona will be able to sign Szczesny or Marcus Rashford, thus resolving the first crisis in the transfer market. The hope is that Ter Stegen will undergo back surgery, and then Juan Garcia will be signed instead. This dilemma will be resolved early, rather than waiting until the end of August, as was the case last season with Dani Olmo.

The 23-year-old Victor was promoted to Barcelona’s first team last season, making 29 appearances, scoring just two goals and assisting one.
