Barcelona Successfully Renews Contract of New Star

Barcelona has secured a new star for the long term, having reached an agreement with him on all the details to remain with the Blaugrana until the summer of 2030.

L’Equipe reported that right-back Jules Kounde has said yes to renewing his contract with Barcelona, and that it is only a matter of time before an official announcement regarding his long-term stay with Hansi Flick’s squad will be made.

Kode’s current contract with Barcelona runs until the summer of 2027, and the French star has recently received several offers, most notably from Manchester City and a major European club whose identity has not been revealed.

Because of this, and as part of Joan Laporta’s keenness to maintain Barcelona’s core squad, negotiations have begun with Kounde to renew his contract, offering him a significant salary increase to persuade him to stay.

Kode did not hesitate to accept Barcelona’s new offer, quickly agreeing in negotiations described as smooth given the player’s desire to remain at Camp Nou despite the other temptations.

Kounde joined Barcelona in the summer of 2023 from Sevilla for €50 million, and was a key factor in Barça’s success last season after his remarkable performances at right-back. He has also been the Catalan club’s most capped player over the past two seasons.
