Barcelona bounced back from two consecutive defeats with a convincing performance against Levante at the Camp Nou.
Hansi Flick made several changes to the lineup that lost to Girona on Monday, with Marc Bernal returning to the starting eleven.
Bernal immediately justified his selection by scoring the opening goal after just four minutes, tapping in a low cross from Eric Garcia. It was his second goal at the Camp Nou.
From that moment, the Catalans continued their search for a second goal, which they found shortly after the half-hour mark. Joao Cancelo delivered a perfect cross that found Frenkie de Jong, who made no mistake from close range.
Barcelona’s dominance continued into the second half, although the third goal didn’t arrive until the 81st minute. It came courtesy of substitute Fermín López, whose stunning shot struck the post and bounced into the net.
With this result, Barcelona reclaimed the top spot in La Liga, which they had lost for a week following their 2-1 defeat to Girona. They capitalized on Real Madrid’s loss to Osasuna earlier in the day.
Barcelona now sit on 61 points, one point ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, while Levante remain on 18 points in 19th place.
