Barcelona has decided to sell Alejandro Balde in the upcoming summer transfer window, especially given the interest from several Premier League clubs. To replace him, sporting director Deco is leaning towards another Catalan option.
Spanish media outlets have indicated that Aston Villa is prepared to pay €50 million for Balde, and due to his frequent injuries and declining form, Barcelona’s management is not opposed to the sale.
Meanwhile, the “El Chiringuito” program revealed that Barcelona has a strong interest in signing Chelsea’s left-back Marc Cucurella to bolster their left-back position next summer.
Cucuria has previously expressed his desire to return to Barcelona, stating clearly that he wants to wear the Barça jersey again after starting his career there before launching his European career.
The Cucurella deal is not expected to be expensive or difficult for Barcelona. With Chelsea failing to qualify for the Champions League next season, the player may push even harder to leave Stamford Bridge.
The transfer of Cucurella to Barcelona is expected to cost around €40 million. If Balde is sold beforehand, the process will be much simpler, including registering him without the complications that have become commonplace for Barça in recent years.
Cucura’s contract with Chelsea runs until the summer of 2028. This season, he has made 45 appearances for the Blues, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
