Barcelona makes final decision on Szczesny’s future

Sport newspaper reported that Barcelona’s management has made a final decision on goalkeeper Szczesny’s future after his recent brilliance.

The Polish player received great praise from his coach Hansi Flick and the players and fans of Barca following his great brilliance against Benfica in the Champions League.

The Catalan club’s management has decided to renew Szczesny’s contract, which expires at the end of this season, and the offer will be put on his table in a few days.

Iñaki Peña will be the direct victim of this decision, as he has completely been removed from the club’s calculations and the plan now is to sell him in the next summer transfer market.

The report indicates that Barcelona wants to create a state of competition between Szczesny and Ter Stegen next season to guard the Blaugrana goal, which will ultimately benefit the team.

As for the third goalkeeper, it will be between the young duo Diego Kocchin or Ander Astralaga.

It remains for the 33-year-old Szczesny to make a decision about renewing or retiring, although it is likely that he will accept continuing for another year at Camp Nou.
