“Sport” newspaper reported that the Barcelona administration hopes to sign Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich next summer, but realizes that the matter is close to impossible from a practical standpoint.
Kimmich’s contract with the Bavarian club expires in the summer of 2025, and Bayern is ready to hear offers about him to sell him in the summer of 2024 instead of him leaving for free the following year.
Barcelona is one of the clubs that is attracting Kimmich, but the difficult economic situation that the Blaugrana is experiencing prevents the deal from being completed, at least next summer.
According to “Sport”, the Barcelona management informed the German player that he has two options. The first and easiest is to stay at Bayern until the summer of 2025, and then join Barcelona for free.
As for the second option, it is illogical, for the player to wait for a miracle to happen in Barcelona’s sales at the next summer Mercato, after which the Catalan club can enter into negotiations to include him when his records comply with the rules of financial fair play.
In this regard, it remains to note that the Sky network previously indicated that Kimmich, who is 29 years old, does not prefer to wait long to take the next step in his future, which makes his chances of joining Barca diminish with these scenarios that reality imposes on Joan Laporta’s management.
It is worth noting that Xavi Hernandez contacted Kimmich last summer and dreamed of including him, but as is usual, the economic crisis prevented that.
