The capital club has made it clear: they have no intention of selling their star player to a direct domestic rival.

The tension stems from Atletico’s accusation that Barcelona is repeating the “Antoine Griezmann scenario” by negotiating with the player without prior club authorization.
This perceived lack of ethics has led President Enrique Cerezo’s administration to threaten a formal complaint to UEFA. According to Mundo Deportivo, a formal rejection of Barcelona’s proposal will be delivered within the next few hours as an initial retaliatory step.
