The newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” reported that the Barcelona administration, at the urging of Hansi Flick, will try to sign Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich.
The German player’s contract with the Bavarian giant expires in the summer of 2025, and so far no agreement has been reached on renewal, which opens the door to his departure next summer.
With Flick’s arrival to coach Barça, succeeding the dismissed coach Xavi Hernandez, the possibility of obtaining Kimmich’s signature increases given the special relationship between the player and the coach, whether when they were together at Bayern Munich or afterward in the German national team.
What enhances the possibility of signing with the 29-year-old is the fact that Bayern Munich will not exaggerate the financial value for which it will allow Kimmich to be sold, for fear that he will leave for free the following year.
The fact that Barcelona is not the only club aspiring to sign Kimmich is what most worries the Joan Laporta administration, as there are other clubs that have financial readiness, such as Manchester City, that could kidnap the German international, who will not prefer to wait long until the economic conditions at Camp Nou are corrected.
