Announcing the Nominees for the 2025 Yashin Award for the Best Goalkeeper in the World

France Football continues to announce the nominees for the various awards for the best in the world in 2025, and now the French magazine has announced the goalkeepers nominated for the Lev Yashin Award 2025.

Argentinian goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez won the award in the last two editions, 2023 and 2024, but it is likely that a new goalkeeper will win in 2025, despite the Aston Villa goalkeeper being on the final list.

The good news for Arab fans is that Al-Hilal goalkeeper and Moroccan star Yassine Bounou is on the 10-man shortlist, likely thanks to his remarkable performance in the 2025 Club World Cup.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma remains the favorite to win the Yashin Award after a legendary season that was one of the key factors in PSG’s historic treble victory.

Donnarumma, Bono, and Martinez are competing with Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, Inter Milan goalkeeper Jan Oblak, Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Mats Sels, and Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

The list also faces fierce competition, led by Thibaut Courtois, who has been in brilliant form for Real Madrid despite the club’s trophy-less season. Also nominated are Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, who is close to a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, and Alisson Becker, who led Liverpool to the Premier League title.
