Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti announced that Thibaut Courtois has recovered from his injury and is close to returning to participate in matches again.
The Belgian goalkeeper did not play any matches this season due to a cruciate ligament injury that kept him out of action until last March, and then he suffered a knee ligament injury.
According to the Italian coach, this injury is gone, and Courtois can play at least a match before the end of the current season in a Real Madrid shirt.
At the press conference for the match between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad, Ancelotti said that the Cadiz match may witness Courtois’ first participation with the Royal Club this season.
Real Madrid will play with Sociedad on Friday, then face Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday, and then host Cadiz at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.
Perhaps Courtois’s return will not mean his participation in decisive matches, given his lack of match sensitivity, as well as the striking brilliance of substitute goalkeeper Andrey Lunin.
