Alonso’s second victim after Rodrygo… Real Madrid decides to let its star go!

Cadena Ser reported that Real Madrid has decided to let one of its stars go on loan during the current summer transfer window.

Gonzalo Garcia shone during the 2025 Club World Cup, and for coach Xabi Alonso, he has become his first choice in attack behind Kylian Mbappé.

Because of this, and at Alonso’s behest, Real Madrid decided to allow Endrick to leave on loan, as the club believes his chances of playing will be virtually non-existent with Garcia’s presence.

At the same time, Real Madrid’s management does not intend to pressure the Brazilian striker into leaving. Instead, they will advise him that it is best for his future to spend the next season away from the Santiago Bernabéu and try to perform well, then return and compete for a starting spot.

Alonso believes that 21-year-old Gonzalo Garcia is like Raúl González and has a great future. The player has also clearly accepted Joselu’s role, sitting on the bench and making occasional appearances when needed.

Kylian Mbappé will remain Real Madrid’s first-choice striker, but with the expected heavy fixture pressure next season, Alonso will need another striker in Garcia. The young striker also provides additional options, as he is a skilled header and possesses great physical strength in the penalty area.

Endrick, on the other hand, has yet to decide whether to leave or stay and persevere. Unfortunately, he was unable to introduce himself to Alonso due to an injury he sustained before the Club World Cup, which opened the door for Garcia to shine and secure a starting spot at the World Cup.

Endrick will thus be the second victim of Xabi Alonso’s appointment, following Rodrygo, who did not participate much in the World Cup and whose departure this summer is closer than ever.
