Alonso urges Liverpool to sign Real Madrid star to replace Salah

Xabi Alonso has urged Liverpool’s management to sign one of Real Madrid’s stars to replace Mohamed Salah on the right wing, despite the Reds’ apparent preference for other options.

Alonso is close to becoming Liverpool’s manager next season, succeeding current manager Arne Slott, although recent English reports suggest the Dutchman’s continued tenure is a strong possibility.

According to the latest report, Alonso sees Arda Güler, the Real Madrid star, as the ideal replacement for Salah, who will leave Anfield at the end of the current season.

The Basque coach believes that Güler’s performances under his management at Real Madrid make him a “reliable choice” to succeed the 34-year-old, even though many consider the Turkish player primarily a playmaker.

However, Alonso prefers to primarily rely on Güler in the wing position, a tactic he employed repeatedly during his time at Real Madrid. The 19-year-old’s brilliance was particularly noticeable when he filled in on the right flank in the derby match against Atlético Madrid in La Liga.

It’s worth noting that Liverpool’s management favors signing RB Leipzig’s Yann Diomande as a replacement for Salah, especially since his club is open to selling, unlike Real Madrid, who are unwilling to part with one of their Santiago Bernabéu treasures easily.
