An Algerian star is close to joining Manchester City, according to The Athletic.
The subject of the transfer is Wolverhampton star Rayan Ait-Nouri, who has been specifically requested by manager Pep Guardiola to fill the gap at left-back.
According to the latest report, negotiations between City and Nouri will begin in the coming hours, and reaching an agreement is not expected to be a problem.
Meanwhile, Wolverhampton is open to selling Nouri if they receive a financial offer of between £30 and £40 million.
City is seeking to finalize the deal in the coming days so that the 23-year-old can participate in the 2025 Club World Cup with Guardiola’s squad.
Ait-Nouri joined Wolverhampton in 2021 from French club Angers for €11 million and has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League in his position.
The Algerian international can play at left-back or centre-back, and Guardiola wants him to play on the left flank so he can return Josko Gvardiol to centre-back, forming the ideal partnership with Ruben Dias next season.
