Inter Miami star Jordi Alba refused to consider his team’s mission in the Club World Cup Round of 16 against Paris Saint-Germain impossible.
The American club qualified second in their group, while PSG topped Group B after Atletico Madrid’s last-gasp goal against Botafogo.
Alba acknowledges that the task will be difficult for Messi’s teammates, but he believes Inter Miami has a chance to pull off a major football upset.
“What’s stopping us from dreaming of eliminating Inter Miami? Football is a 90-minute game, and anything is possible,” Alba said.
The former Barcelona left-back added, “There’s no doubt the match will be very difficult. Paris is the best team in Europe, but we will fight until the very end.”
He concluded, “They are a very diverse team with many players in midfield. They are a complete team, and they have Luis Enrique, the best coach in the world. I look forward to seeing him and his technical staff, who worked with us at Barcelona.”
It is worth noting that Alba owes a great deal to Luis Enrique, who helped transform him into one of the best left-backs in the world during the coach’s three years at Camp Nou.
