Jordanian star Musa Al-Taamari led his team, Rennes, to a resounding 3-1 victory over visiting Paris Saint-Germain in the opening match of the 21st round of the 2026 French Ligue 1 season.
Al-Taamari had suffered serious disagreements with Rennes’ former coach, Habib Beye, before the latter was dismissed last week and replaced by Frank Hayes, who was appointed in the hope of salvaging the season after a sharp decline in results.
Hayes included Al-Taamari in the starting lineup against Paris Saint-Germain, and the Jordanian international quickly made his mark.

The Jordanian player received the ball on the edge of the penalty area and, with a brilliant left-footed strike, unleashed a magical shot that nestled into the Paris Saint-Germain net, giving Rennes the lead in the 34th minute.
Steppa Lepoul then doubled the advantage for the home side at Roazhon Park, before Ousmane Dembélé pulled one back for PSG in the 71st minute. Breel Embolo sealed the victory for Rennes with a third goal in the 81st minute.
This win lifted Rennes to 34 points in fifth place, while PSG remained top with 51 points, but could lose their lead if Lens win their match this round.
