Saudi media reported that Al-Nasr management is close to reaching an agreement with Fernando Hierro to fill the position of sports director of the club in the coming period.
Hierro, who is considered one of Real Madrid’s all-time legends, is currently working in the same position but with the Mexican club Deportivo Guadalajara since last October.
Al-Nasr is looking for a strong sports director to fill the position after the failure to sign the Portuguese Miguel Rubero, and Hierro is at the forefront of the scene at the present moment.
According to Al-Riyadiya newspaper, Al-Nasr is in intense negotiations with Hierro, who expressed his willingness to accept the mission, and some final frills remain to complete the contract between the two parties.
It is noteworthy that Hierro was the sporting director of the Spanish national team from 2007 to 2011, and he also worked in the same position with Malaga between 2011 and 2012.
Hierro then became involved in the world of coaching, where he was an assistant to Carlo Ancelotti in coaching Real Madrid, then he coached Real Oviedo before leading the Spain national team in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
