Al Hilal to Cristiano Ronaldo: Rejected with thanks

A new chapter in Cristiano Ronaldo’s future, as he is close to leaving Al Nassr after his contract expires following poor results and disagreements with the Saudi club’s management regarding future planning.

The Portuguese international has been linked with several clubs, including Egypt’s Al Ahly, Brazil’s Palmeiras, and England’s Chelsea, all solely to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup.

According to Saudi media, Al Hilal has been proposed as a potential destination for Ronaldo, either on loan during the Club World Cup or to continue his career there for another two years.

However, renowned journalist Sacha Tavoleri revealed that Al Hilal was the one who rejected the proposal to sign Ronaldo.

The Saudi Investment Fund, which has a close relationship with Ronaldo and brought him to Al Nassr two and a half years ago, offered Al Hilal the idea of signing the 40-year-old specifically for the Club World Cup.

Surprisingly, however, the Blue Wave’s management felt the team didn’t need Ronaldo’s services and opposed the idea, preferring to consider other options, such as Victor Osimhen.

Ronaldo’s future remains unknown, with either continuing with Al-Nassr despite not participating in continental competitions and his dissatisfaction with many aspects of the club’s fortunes, or pursuing a new experience outside Saudi Arabia.

It’s worth noting that journalist Felix Dias of Marca, known for his closeness to Ronaldo, revealed an offer from a major Brazilian club, without revealing its identity, to sign the Portuguese legend, but the club has yet to make a final decision.
