Al-Hilal are pushing forward with ambitious negotiations to sign Colombian winger Luis Díaz from Bayern Munich, as the Saudi Pro League giants look to secure a blockbuster attacking marquee signing for manager Simone Inzaghi.
According to Saudi journalist Abdulaziz Al-Mraiseel, preliminary discussions are currently underway with both Bayern Munich and the player’s representatives to outline financial terms and gauge the viability of a summer transfer.
These reports align with European outlets confirming Al-Hilal’s official interest. However, Bayern Munich currently have no intention of parting ways with one of their key attacking figures, making the German club’s stance the primary hurdle in negotiations.
Reports indicate that Al-Hilal are prepared to launch an offer ranging between €120 million and €150 million, alongside a tax-free net annual salary of approximately €25 million to convince the Colombian international to make the move to Saudi Arabia.
Díaz currently earns a gross annual salary of around €14 million at Bayern—roughly €269,000 per week before taxes and performance bonuses. Al-Hilal’s proposal represents a massive financial leap for the 29-year-old, particularly given Saudi Arabia’s tax-free earnings structure.
The Colombian dynamic winger launched his professional career with Barranquilla before joining Junior FC. He made his European breakthrough with FC Porto in 2019, where he registered 41 goals in 125 appearances and claimed multiple domestic trophies.
Díaz then sealed a high-profile move to Liverpool in January 2022, accumulating 148 appearances, 41 goals, and 23 assists while lifting the Premier League, FA Cup, two League Cups, and the Community Shield.
After moving to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2025 in a deal worth around €75 million, Díaz signed a contract running through June 2029. Consequently, Al-Hilal will need to present an extraordinary financial package to sway the Bavarian giants into opening formal transfer negotiations.
