Ferencváros Sporting Director Tamas Hajnal officially announced Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane’s transfer to Al-Ahly.
Intense negotiations have been ongoing between Al-Ahly and the Hungarian club for days to finalize the deal, especially since the player had expressed his agreement to wear the red shirt.
Ultimately, Ben Romdhane signed his transfer contract with the Egyptian club on Friday evening in a deal reportedly worth $1.6 million to the Khatib administration.
Ben Romdhane is Al-Ahly’s third major summer signing, following the signing of Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet and the other, expected to be announced soon, of Ahmed Sayed Zizo.
Ben Romdhane is expected to be part of Al-Ahly’s squad that will travel to the United States to participate in the Club World Cup.
The 25-year-old is a product of Esperance Sportive de Tunis, where he began his career before joining Ferencváros in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer.
Ben Romdhane played 74 matches for his Hungarian club in all competitions, scoring 8 goals and providing 11 assists.
At the international level, Ben Romdhane participated in 45 matches for the Tunisian national team, scoring 3 goals.
