Al-Ahly sets a difficult condition for agreeing to the sale of Wessam Abou Ali

Egyptian media reported that Al-Ahly’s management is open to selling Wessam Abou Ali this summer, but on one condition that seems extremely difficult to meet.

Al-Ahly issued an official statement announcing that the Palestinian international is not for sale, which angered Abou Ali, especially since he had previously informed the club of his desire to leave and embark on a new career.

In the past few hours, Al-Rayyan’s management contacted Wessam Abou Ali and his agent to explore the possibility of him joining the Qatari club. Arab media outlets confirmed that negotiations between the two parties were successful, and an agreement has been reached on the deal.

At the same time, Al-Rayyan has not yet submitted its first official offer to Al-Ahly, and it is expected to take the step within the next few hours.

Al-Ahly’s management, for its part, is willing to discuss the sale of Wessam Abou Ali, but only if the financial offer is at least $10 million, equivalent to approximately 500 million Egyptian pounds.

Initially, Al Rayyan is not prepared to pay this much for Wessam Abou Ali, and hopes to negotiate to convince Al Ahly to lower the sale price to a maximum of $5 to $6 million.

Mahmoud El Khatib’s management believes that replacing Wessam Abou Ali, who has scored 38 goals in the last two seasons, will be extremely difficult. This makes the desire to generate significant funds for him the primary incentive to find someone who can lead the Red Castle’s attack next season.

It’s worth noting that Wessam Abou Ali also has offers from the United States, with a very large salary. Other reports indicate interest from European clubs in signing him following his brilliance in the 2025 Club World Cup, where he scored a hat-trick against Porto.
