Al Ahly is the first team to qualify for CAF Champions League 2026 quarterfinals

Al Ahly secured its place in the 2026 CAF Champions League quarterfinals after a goalless draw with JS Kabylie in the fifth round of the group stage.

The match, held at the Hussein Ait Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou, was played simultaneously with the other match in the same group between FAR Rabat and Young Africans.

Al Ahly managed to snatch a point from JS Kabylie, while FAR Rabat won 1-0 against Young Africans thanks to a goal from Anas Bach.

With this draw, Al Ahly reached nine points at the top of the group, while FAR Rabat is in second place with eight points, and Young Africans is in third with five points. JS Kabylie has been eliminated from the competition, finishing bottom of the group with three points.

Thus, Al Ahly has secured qualification for the quarterfinals. If they want to qualify as group winners, they will need to defeat FAR Rabat next week in the sixth and final round of the group stage, or at least draw.

The draw for the quarter-finals is scheduled to take place on February 28, with the first leg matches to be played between March 13 and 14, and the second leg matches on March 20 and 21.
