Al-Ahly Agrees to Sell Star Player to Turkish League

The controversy surrounding the future of Al-Ahly star Ahmed Nabil “Kouka” has ended after Mahmoud El Khatib’s management responded to the player’s request to leave the Red Castle during the current summer transfer window.

Kouka’s contract with Al-Ahly expires at the end of next season, but he believes it is best to end his career with the Red Devils immediately, given the presence of a large number of distinguished players in midfield and his unwillingness to play as a left-back again.

According to Egyptian media reports, Al-Ahly has agreed to Koka’s request and has tentatively accepted the offer from Turkish club Kasimpasa, with attempts to increase the financial value of the deal and reap the maximum financial gain.

Kasimpasa offered Al-Ahly only €750,000 to buy out the remaining year of the 24-year-old’s contract.

However, it is not expected that the deal will be complicated or that a scenario similar to that of Wissam Abu Ali will occur. Al-Ahly is convinced by the player’s logic and desire to play professionally and will not stand in the way of his wishes.

Last summer, Al-Ahly rejected an offer from Portuguese club Rio Ave to sign Kouka. The justification at the time was that coach Marcel Koller had a technical need for him. This contrasts with the current situation, where José Rivero has no objection to letting the player go.

It’s worth noting that Kouka has made 87 appearances in all competitions since joining Al-Ahly’s first team, scoring two goals and providing four assists, and has won 12 titles.
