Ahmed Abdel Raouf is set to leave Zamalek, and 3 candidates are being considered to replace him

Ahmed Abdel Raouf is close to leaving his position as Zamalek’s coach due to the financial difficulties the club has been facing recently.

Abdel Raouf took over from Belgian coach Yannick Ferrera two months ago, leading the team in the Egyptian Premier League, the first two rounds of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, and the Egyptian Cup, where they defeated Baladeyet El Mahalla in the Round of 32.

According to Egyptian media, Abdel Raouf is considering resigning due to the club’s recent struggles, most notably the players not receiving their due payments, which has resulted in poor performances in official matches.

The Zamalek board will not stand in Abdel Raouf’s way should he decide to leave, and they have already begun preparing to appoint a replacement quickly.

Zamalek will not be able to sign a foreign coach in the near future due to the financial crisis, and it is reported that Hussein Labib’s administration is considering three local candidates: Moataz Gamal, Khaled Galal, and Tarek Mostafa.

Former Zamalek coach and current Al-Shorta (Iraq) coach, Moamen Soliman, is also being considered for the position.

The new coach will have only 20 days to prepare for Zamalek’s crucial upcoming period, which includes Egyptian Premier League matches and decisive Confederation Cup fixtures.
