Many question marks have been raised about the start date of the Al-Ahly-Mazembe match in the second leg of the African Champions League semi-final, given that the match will take place on the night of daylight saving time in Egypt.
The Egyptian government had announced a return to daylight saving time on Friday, April 26, specifically at midnight (that is, on Thursday night, the clock will increase by 60 minutes).
This caused many people to not realize the start time of the Al-Ahly and Mazembe match, after it was announced that it would take place at ten in the evening, and thus it may also increase by 60 minutes to take place at eleven o’clock.
However, Al-Ahly announced in an official statement that the match would start at exactly ten o’clock in the evening, Egypt time, and ended this controversy.
The first leg in Congo ended in a goalless draw, so Al-Ahly had to achieve victory over Mazembe to qualify for the final match.
On the other hand, Esperance won against Sun Downs in Tunisia 1-0, and a difficult task awaits them in the second leg in South Africa to reach the final.
