The last round of the group stage in the Gulf 26 Championship witnessed excitement beyond excitement, and resulted in big matches in the semi-finals.
The Saudi national team managed to win 3-1 against Iraq in the last round in Group Two, while Bahrain lost at the same time to Yemen 2-1.
There was a state of controversy after the end of the round about who would qualify as the leader in Group Two, as Saudi Arabia had the advantage by goal difference.
The regulations of the Gulf 26 stipulated that if two teams tie in points, direct confrontations would be resorted to to decide the identity of the qualifier.
Thus, Bahrain is the leader of Group Two after defeating Saudi Arabia 3-2, to set a date with Kuwait, while the Greens will face Oman.
