FIFA has imposed a new fine on Zamalek for failing to pay Ibrahima Ndiaye’s outstanding dues, amounting to $1.6 million.
This fine, which includes a three-transfer-window ban in addition to the payment of the outstanding amount, is the eleventh for Zamalek in the last three months.
The issue of unpaid dues erupted after FIFA ruled in favor of José Gomes and his assistants, awarding them their outstanding payments ($180,000). These were the first two cases to surface recently.
Following this, Christian Gross was awarded $133,000, and Ferjani Sassi received a final ruling of $505,000.
From last summer’s transfer deals, Zamalek is required to pay €200,000 to Estrella de Amadora for the transfer of Chico Banza, €170,000 to Belgian club Charleroi for the transfer of Oday Dabbagh, and $800,000 as an installment for the transfer of Juan Bezzerra from Ukrainian club Oleksandróleos.
In addition, there is $250,000 for the transfer of Salah Msaddak from Renaissance Zemamra, and a further fine ($1.6 million) for terminating Ibrahim Ndiaye’s contract.
Thus, Zamalek is burdened with paying $3.8 million in fines, equivalent to more than 183 million Egyptian pounds, in order to lift the transfer ban and resume making signings before the end of the winter transfer window in Egypt.
It should be noted that this total is likely to increase due to other cases, such as outstanding payments owed to Michalak, Samson, Abdel Hamid Maali, and others. Zamalek is expected to ultimately owe at least $7 million.
