After Mbappe… Real Madrid concludes the most expensive deal in its history

The newspaper “Marca” revealed that the Real Madrid management reached an agreement with Florian Wirtz to join the ranks of the Royal Club in the summer of 2025.

The Bayer Leverkusen star will be the most expensive player in Real Madrid’s history ever, as the Spanish club will pay 150 million euros to include him from the German club.

The agreement between Wirtz and Real Madrid stipulates that the 21-year-old player will continue for another year in Leverkusen, then join the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2025.

“Marca” based its report on what was confirmed by the German newspaper “Bild” about the existence of an agreement between the two parties, as well as agents close to the player and Real Madrid who also confirmed the matter.

Wirtz is considered one of the most prominent talents in the world of football in recent times, and he also played a major role in Bayer Leverkusen winning the domestic double last season.

Although he will join Real Madrid, this has nothing to do with Xabi Alonso’s future in training at Leverkusen, and “Marca” confirms that the two files are not related at the present moment.

Some rumors had said that Alonso would become Real Madrid coach in 2025 and succeed Carlo Ancelotti.

It is noteworthy that Barcelona has its eye on contracting with Wirtz on the recommendation of new coach Hansi Flick, but from an economic standpoint, the deal seems impossible.
