Inter Milan have entered into direct negotiations with Liverpool in the past few hours to explore the possibility of signing Curtis Jones during the current winter transfer window.
Although Jones is a regular starter for Liverpool, he has a very poor relationship with manager Arne Slott, with some reports even revealing a heated argument between the two in the dressing room in recent days.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Inter want to sign Jones on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy next summer.
Surprisingly, Jones is open to the move and does not want to stay at Liverpool. However, the deal hinges on Davide Frattesi’s departure from Inter to Nottingham Forest, after which the Italian club can finalize the transfer.
Liverpool’s stance on allowing the English player to leave has not yet been revealed, although it is expected that they will agree to the move in response to Jones’s desire not to work with Slott again, and vice versa.
It is worth noting that Jones’ current contract with Liverpool still extends until the summer of 2027, making the move to sell him next summer ideal for the Reds’ officials rather than him leaving for free the following year.
