After “Going Crazy,” Imam Ashour Close to Return

Egyptian journalist Ahmed Shobeir revealed that Imam Ashour’s return to participating in Al Ahly’s group training is closer than ever.

Ashour suffered a shoulder injury while participating in the 2025 Club World Cup with Al Ahly, which kept him out for nearly three months. As soon as he recovered, he contracted hepatitis and needed to be isolated until he fully recovered.

According to Shobeir, Imam Ashour nearly went crazy after his latest illness, especially since it caught him off guard at the worst possible time, just as he was preparing to return to action.

Ultimately, the results of Imam Ashour’s latest tests were reassuring. If nothing new is found, the Egyptian international is expected to return to Al Ahly training again in four days.

Imam Ashour is currently targeting the 2025 Egyptian Super Cup, scheduled to kick off on November 6 in Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital. Al Ahly will face Ceramica Cleopatra in the semi-finals.
