Manchester United has reached an agreement with Lecce to buy Patrick Dorgu during the current winter transfer period.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the player will undergo medical tests on Wednesday in preparation for signing an official transfer contract with the Red Devils.
United will pay 30 million euros to acquire the left-back, in addition to another 5 million in variables depending on his individual performance and collective achievement.
Dorgu’s deal is the first for United during the winter transfer market, despite coach Ruben Amorim announcing on more than one occasion his urgent need for reinforcements in more than one position.
United’s management focused on this deal in particular to support the left flank after Tyrell Malacia was out of the calculations, and in light of Luke Shaw’s successive injuries.
Dorgu is only 20 years old, and plays as an attacking left-back and can be relied upon as a right winger as well.
This season, the Danish player of Nigerian origin participated in 23 matches with Lecce, who are at the bottom of the Italian League, during which he scored 3 goals and made another.
