After a long drought, Marmoush scores for Manchester City against Wolverhampton

Omar Marmoush rediscovered his scoring touch with Manchester City, finding the net against Wolverhampton Wanderers in Saturday evening’s match at the Etihad Stadium.

Marmoush had been absent from City’s lineup for the past month while representing Egypt at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, where the Pharaohs finished fourth.

In his first appearance since returning from the tournament, Marmoush capitalized on a cross from Mateus Núñez, converting it with a deft touch into the Wolves’ net, giving City the lead in the sixth minute.

Marmoush started the match, with manager Pep Guardiola opting to give the “Egyptian Prince” a chance and rest Erling Haaland.

This goal is particularly significant for Marmoush, as it’s his first Premier League goal of the season and may further solidify Guardiola’s desire to keep him at the club until the end of the season.

It’s worth noting that Marmoush has scored only one goal this season, against Swansea City in the Carabao Cup.

Overall, this is Marmoush’s eighth Premier League goal for City, and interestingly, all of them have been scored at the Etihad Stadium – a feat unmatched by any other player in the club’s history.
