After a long absence, Gavi returns to Barcelona training

Gavi participated in Barcelona’s group training session for the first time in months, paving the way for his return to action for the Catalan club in the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old suffered a knee injury that required surgery and has been sidelined for 185 days.

There were serious concerns that Gavi’s career was in jeopardy and that he might be forced to retire from football due to the pain, but it seems his condition has improved significantly, and we may see the Catalan star before the end of the season.

According to the newspaper “Sport,” Gavi was seen in group training on Friday morning after completing several individual sessions in the gym and working with the ball. He has now recovered and begun participating in part of the training with the group.

However, Barcelona has not yet set a date for the promising player’s return to competitive matches. The final decision will be made based on the speed of his full recovery.

Barcelona have no intention of risking Gavi’s recovery. Any further setback could end his career. The coaching and medical staff will wait until they are certain he is 100% fit before gradually reintegrating him into matches.

Hansi Flick is optimistic that Gavi will complete his recovery and preparation perfectly and could feature for Barcelona very soon.

Initial expectations are that Gavi will return to the pitch after the international break, and if all goes well, he might even make a brief appearance in mid-March.
