Achraf Hakimi has written his name among the legends of Arab football in letters of light after scoring a goal in the Champions League final for his team, Paris Saint-Germain, against Inter.
The Moroccan international, as usual, advanced into the opponent’s penalty area, took advantage of a magical pass from Desiree Doue, and found himself facing the goal, placing the ball past goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
Hakimi refused to celebrate the goal, which came in the 12th minute, out of respect for Inter, where he spent a year before joining PSG in a record-breaking deal in 2022.

With this goal, Hakimi joined a list of only two other Arab players to have scored in a Champions League final.
The first to do so was Algerian Rabah Madjer, who scored with a backheel for Porto in 1987 against Bayern Munich. The Portuguese club won the title with a 2-1 victory.
The second was Egyptian Mohamed Salah, in the 2019 edition at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, when he scored a late penalty kick past Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, leading the Reds to the title.
It’s worth noting that Hakimi has scored nine goals and provided 14 assists this season with Paris Saint-Germain, and many consider him a candidate for the Ballon d’Or.
