Sky reported that Bayern Munich is considering an option that seems quite shocking to succeed Thomas Tuchel as Bavarian coach next season.
Xabi Alonso’s name was Bayern’s No. 1 to succeed Tuchel, but the Spaniard announced that he would continue next season with Bayer Leverkusen.
According to “Sky”, Bayern Munich is considering returning Julian Nagelsmann to coach the team, one year after his dismissal and Tuchel’s appointment.
Nagelsmann’s contract with the German national team expires at the end of Euro 2024, and the coach has previously opened the door to returning to Bayern Munich by stressing that nothing is impossible in football.
Nagelsmann was dismissed in March 2023 by Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic and Tuchel was appointed, and after the difficult end of last season the duo was dismissed and management was changed completely.
The new administration, now led by Max Eberl and Christopher Freund, views Nagelsmann as a good choice to succeed Tuchel, especially since there is great belief that the decision to dismiss him previously was not correct.
The second name strongly nominated by Nagelsmann is the current Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbe, but it seems that the German coach’s chances are greater at the current moment.
In the end, the file for Bayern Munich’s new coach is supposed to be decided by next April at the latest.
