Thus, Lionel Messi has become the all-time leading assist provider in football history, surpassing the previous record held by the legendary Hungarian Ferenc Puskás (404 assists).
It’s also worth noting that Messi has now become the player with the most goal contributions in MLS playoff history, with 13.
With Inter Miami in general, Messi played 87 games, scoring 77 goals and providing 41 assists, for a total of 118 contributions, the most goals and assists in the club’s history.
