A gift for Liverpool and United: Chelsea stumble in the dying moments against Burnley

In stoppage time, Burnley striker Zian Fleming snatched a 1-1 draw against 10-man Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Fleming headed home the equalizer from a James Ward-Prowse corner in the 93rd minute, after Chelsea had lost control of the game following Wesley Fofana’s dismissal.

The home side had dominated possession until the defender’s 72nd-minute red card, having taken the lead through João Pedro in the fourth minute.

Chelsea players have received six red cards this season, more than any other Premier League team, and eight in all competitions.

Burnley failed to register a single shot on target in the second half before Fofana received his second yellow card in the 72nd minute, having already been booked for a reckless challenge on Hannibal Mejbri.

Fleming was unmarked when he headed in the dramatic equalizer, and substitute Jacob Bruun Larsen missed a similar opportunity minutes later, to the boos of the Chelsea fans after the final whistle.

With this result, Chelsea move up to fourth place with 45 points, but could drop to fifth if Manchester United win their match tomorrow. Liverpool also have the chance to draw level with the Blues if they win this round.
