Sergio Ramos could make a grand return to European football after receiving a lucrative offer from a major English club, according to Spanish radio network Cadena SER.
The 39-year-old has decided not to renew his contract with Monterrey and is returning to play in Europe, hoping to convince coach Luis de la Fuente to include him in Spain’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Spanish newspapers had speculated that Ramos would return to Sevilla, but surprisingly, the Real Madrid legend has received an offer from Manchester United, and negotiations between the two parties are currently underway and described as positive.
The Red Devils are looking to bolster their defense with an experienced center-back who also possesses leadership qualities to help calm tensions at Old Trafford, and Ramos appears to be the ideal candidate for this role.
Ramos has yet to decide whether to accept or reject Manchester United’s offer, particularly as he needs to assess his physical condition and whether he will be able to compete at the highest level in the Premier League.
Furthermore, Ramos will face stiff competition for playing time if he joins Ruben Amorim’s squad, as the center-back position is already crowded with players like Leni Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, and Harry Maguire.
