Spanish media reports indicate that a major European club has inquired with Real Madrid about the possibility of signing Franco Mastantuno on loan during the upcoming winter transfer window.
The 18-year-old started the season impressively with Real Madrid before suffering a groin injury that sidelined him for a period. Surprisingly, upon his return, he didn’t receive many playing opportunities under coach Xabi Alonso.
In recent hours, Napoli contacted Real Madrid to inquire about the club’s stance on accepting a loan deal for the former River Plate star for just six months.
Florentino Pérez’s administration responded decisively, stating that Mastantuno is a key player for the team and will have significant playing time in the coming period. Therefore, there is absolutely no intention of letting him go.
Alonso is particularly attached to the Argentine player and believes he can provide an immediate boost in midfield. His recent exclusion was perhaps due to the immense pressure the coach was under following poor results.
It’s worth noting that Real Madrid sent Endrick on loan to Lyon until the end of the season, but this scenario won’t be repeated with Mastanuño, given the management’s belief that he can easily secure a regular starting position, unlike the Brazilian international who never convinced Alonso.
